GEN 0.1 PREFACE
1. NAME OF THE PUBLISHING AUTHORITY
The Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) of the Syrian Arab Republic is published under the authority of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of the Syrian Arab Republic.
2. APPLICABLE ICAO DOCUMENTS
This AIP contains aeronautical information of a lasting character essential to air navigation within the Damascus Flight Information Region (FIR: OSTT). It is compiled in accordance with ICAO Annex 15 — Aeronautical Information Services, and follows the format prescribed in ICAO Doc 8126 — Aeronautical Information Services Manual.
3. THE AIP STRUCTURE AND ESTABLISHED REGULAR AMENDMENT INTERVAL
3.1 The AIP is organized in three parts:
- GEN — General: National regulations, authorities, tables, abbreviations, and general administrative information.
- ENR — En-Route: Airspace structure, ATS routes, navigation aids, radio frequencies, and en-route procedures.
- AD — Aerodromes: Information on internationally available aerodromes/heliports, including aerodrome data, charts, and procedures.
3.2 Regular amendment interval
Amendments to the AIP are issued in accordance with the Aeronautical Information Regulation and Control (AIRAC) system, as specified by ICAO. Effective dates follow the internationally agreed 28-day cycle.
